History in the Making - 2008

History in the Making!

“Nothing is more exciting and bonding in relationships than creating together” says Stephen Covey. It is an exciting time at Tabor Victoria. With the accreditation of the Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) we have become the first private higher education provider in Victoria to receive government approval to train teachers. This is quite a momentous event for us, since our accreditation allows us to train teachers for Christian and public secondary schools. Not only will we train teachers in areas such as English, Art, Psychology and Mathematics, but the Graduate Diploma in Education also creates the opportunity to train men and women for chaplaincy in local schools as well as to be teachers in Religious Education. We expect to launch this program in February 2008.

The accreditation of the Bachelor of Arts degree in general Arts subjects is another step that we have taken towards our goal to be a Christian college that provides training for the church, society and marketplace. We have for many years offered bachelors degrees in Ministry, Theology, Missions and Counselling and will continue to do that over the years to come. But we sense there is a call on Tabor Victoria to expand its programs to train women and men to make an impact in society and the marketplace. Our mission statement to empower God’s people to transform the world has been our passion for years. Students will be able to complete majors in Art, English, Biblical Studies, Psychology and Counselling and Youth Studies. Through the partnership with Wycliffe we will offer two majors in translation and literacy, which is a wonderful opportunity for us as Tabor to live out our commitment to God’s word.

Helen Keller said, “Life is an exciting business, and most exciting when it is lived for others.”

I hope that you will find our website helpful as you explore your educational options.
